Brandon Hoyer
Owner | General Contractor
Brandon has been working in the construction industry for over 20 years, gaining hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and agricultural building projects—and just about everything in between.
More than 15 years ago, he founded BH Construction, originally focusing on framing, siding, and roofing. While not always the most glamorous work, Brandon has never shied away from a hard day’s labor. In 2016, he earned his general contractor’s license and took the leap into custom home building. In the early days, he wore all the hats—scheduling, estimating, project oversight, and even some finish carpentry.
As the company grew and the team expanded, Brandon transitioned into a more traditional general contractor role. Today, he oversees all the big-picture elements of building a custom home. If you build with BH, Brandon will be your first point of contact, guiding you from the initial vision to the groundbreaking—and beyond.
When he’s not on the job site, you’ll likely find him on the family acreage, spending time with his crew and tending to their beloved “funny farm.”
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Getting to work with my wife every day. Though we’re pretty sure that had nothing to do with the fact that his wife was the one asking. 😜
Biggest “win” on a jobsite?
Completing a project ahead of schedule to allow homeowners an early move-in!
Danielle Hoyer
Owner | Designer
While becoming a home builder wasn’t always part of her plan, Danielle has had a passion for design for as long as she can remember. As a child, she loved transforming spaces and was always eager to help her mom rearrange rooms around the house.
Before co-founding BH Construction & Homes with her husband, she worked as a Realtor—drawn to the industry by her love of real estate, especially the structure, layout, and design of every unique home. After the birth of their first child, she stepped into full-time motherhood while also managing the books for their growing business. As BH expanded, so did their vision, and custom home building quickly became the heart of their work.
Today, Danielle serves as the lead designer, guiding clients through every stage of the home-building journey—from drafting and layouts to finish selections and final details. Whether it’s a client’s first home or a repeat build, she remains hands-on throughout the process, helping bring their vision to life in a way that reflects their style and supports their lifestyle. After years of building custom homes, her excitement for design hasn’t waned—she still lights up at the opportunity to create thoughtful, beautiful spaces that enhance her clients’ everyday lives.
When she’s not on a job site or working with clients, Danielle enjoys time on her family’s acreage with their three boys and assortment of animals. Her ideal day? A slow morning with a homemade latte, a round of golf, and a sunset walk with the animals—a 10/10 in her book.
Describe your design style in 3 words?
Refined, balanced, and inviting — my design approach blends timeless style with modern finishes to create homes that feel as good as they look.
What’s one piece of advice you give every new homeowner?
Trust the process. It’s easy to get caught up in all the decisions and curveballs, but I promise it all comes together. You’ve got a good team, a solid plan, and in the end, you’ll have a home that’s so worth it.
Mike
On-Site Project Manager
Mike has been involved in various aspects of the construction industry for the past 16 years, gaining experience in framing, siding, roofing, tile, hardwood installation, and finish carpentry. He joined BH a few years ago, initially working on one of our framing crews. However, as BH transitioned into custom home building, we knew we wanted to keep him along for the ride, leading him to become our lead finish carpenter. He thrived in that role and helped create some of our favorite spaces 🏠
With the company’s continued growth, the day-to-day project oversight responsibilities followed. In the spring of 2021, as much as we hated the thought of not having him as our finish carpenter, we knew it was time to utilize him differently. This brought him into his current role as a project manager, where his expertise and commitment have further elevated our projects. He loves being the “fixer,” no matter the scale of the issue.
When he’s not on the job site, he loves to spend time with his kids, doing all the things they love to do!
Most underrated part of building??
Sub-contractor relationship management and growth. When sub contractors feel valued, they deliver the utmost craftsmanship and timelines on our customers dream homes.
If you could build a home anywhere, where would it be?
I would choose a cliff side build in Laguna Beach, CA.
Skyler
On-Site Project Manager
For those who don’t already know, Skyler is Brandon’s younger brother — though most of our clients figure that out before we even mention it!
Skyler joined the team in 2018, working alongside Mike as a finish carpenter. We threw a lot of “firsts” and new challenges his way as our projects continued to grow in size and scope. No matter what we tackled, Skyler was always up for it and loved being part of the process that transforms a vision into reality.
As BH Construction & Homes continued to grow, Skyler transitioned into an On-Site Project Manager, where he gets to put his natural problem-solving skills and eye for detail to work every day.
Off the job site, Skyler can be a little hard to pin down — he’s always up for trying something new and rarely does the same thing two days in a row. He’s the kind of guy who’s game for just about anything!
Favorite kind of day on the job site?
My favorite kind of day is when my scheduling comes together between trades. It’s hard work balancing different trades and subcontractors on multiple projects and it’s a lovely day when that scheduling all comes together.
What’s your favorite part of the home building process?
My favorite part of the building process has always been getting to see a blueprint come to life. When that hole gets dug, I know it’s go time.
